Dubai, UAE -- The UAE Falcons, sponsored by Griffin Energy, have conquered the prestigious Gulf Ladies Trophy at the Dubai Rugby Sevens. The team played a fantastic tournament not conceding a single point in the entire competition. In front of an enthusiastic crowd of 32,000 spectators the Falcons dominated Doha in the final and lifted the trophy for the second time after 2005. "We are proud to have Griffin Energy as our sponsor supporting us to promote women's rugby in the UAE," says team manager Laurence Arca Bathe. "Sports activities have an important social function. They bring people of different backgrounds and cultures closer together and help especially young people to integrate into society," states Haitham A. Al-Aini as one of the main reasons to sponsor a women's rugby team.

Griffin Energy is actively supporting cultural and social initiatives through corporate sponsorships and donations. In the past Griffin has supported the United Nations, the French Cultural Center in Yemen and a variety of other projects in Yemen and elsewhere.
